STORIES AND LEGENDS
In the olden days there were many legends and heroes whom we are told about in the stories of today.
In the past years kings were the most respected human beings, they were their homeland’s legends. They were respected because of their hard work fighting for their lands, in the old days they did not want people who were not brave because they turned out to be traitors, they respected you because of your braveness and great actions. For example Shaka Zulu was the Zulu king, he was well-known because of his courage and brave heart. He killed every enemy that stood up against him, he fought for his fore father’s land and that is why we know him as a legend. There are legends every where even on sports. Years later Nelson Mandela turned to be as brave like Shaka, he fought for the country's freedom. There are many black legends like Oliver Thambo, Moses Mabhida, and Hector Peterson.
Storytelling was a famous thing in the old days, before they go to sleep they told stories, every family was traditional. Fairytale was a well known for bringing the family together. Today we are told stories that were done in the past years like Nelson Mandela in his time fighting for freedom, I was not born in those times but I know all his stories he even wrote a book to tell us about his life.
In the ancient times, the Zulu’s were the well known and respected clan and the girls were also respected because of their virginity pride they upheld. It was a shame to find the girl pregnant out of marriage, the zulu tradition was under the ruling of the king (the zulu king) one of the most legendary king was the king Shaka zulu who was well know about his military strategy to defeat the enemies. His strategy look like the cow horns. He was very strategic and gifted in swift execution and his two brothers were jealous of him because he was the legend and was regarded as the king among the kings. There was hope of ruling the land after king shaka died. Shaka made a prophecy about his land that his brother will never rule the land after his dead and that exactly happened the king shaka died and they ruled it for the short period and the white people took it away from them and that is where apartheid started the Afrikaans ruled the land and the whole south Africa after the legendary king shaka died
STORIES AND LEGENDS
According to my family history, in ancient times my grandmother tell me that their grandmothers during night tell them the farytale stories. When there is somebody calling at the gate, they had no right to enter before calling the clan praises of that family in the gate. The king of the Zulu homeland, Shaka Zulu, even now many people know about his history. My grandmother told me the story about the birth of Shaka. He was son of Nandi and King Senzangakhona his father conceive out of wedlock and born near the place know today as Melmoth. Before 1781-1787 he was the king of the Zulu Nation. He was a strong and a wise leader of Zulu homeland, his heart was the key that helped him to become a courageous leader . His nerves and muscles were shaped by his ancestors to give strength , his eyes were fool of wisdom and perseptiveness. Shaka made assumption about the future of Zulu homeland.
Many people use to call the clan praises of the king Goodwill Zwelithini and all the clan praises of the king of the Zulu homeland. Every night my grandmother use to tell us the stories and farytales.
